hand blown glass jewelry artist
Trace Palmer was born and raised in a small seaside village in Northern Ireland called Holywood, where she connected with the nature, the powerful crashing waves of the Irish sea and the peaceful, rolling hills of the lush, green countryside. After winning the green card lottery and emigrating to the US she was inspired by the art of glass blowing while living near Eugene, Oregon. She began experimenting in glass, working in colors, shapes and patterns reminiscent of her homeland. Being self-taught she has evolved her own unique style incorporating her Celtic designs inside the glass portraying nature in earthy colors. She expresses her spirituality and affinity to the universal power and beauty of nature. Each piece is handmade and is uniquely individual, varying in size, shape and color. Her new Irish Raindrop line has been well received in the American Irish Community having been featured in The Irish News Magazine and The Irish Chronicle and is also for sale at irishjewelry.com. Trace currently blows glass in her studio in Santa Monica, California. Her original glass jewels are combined with simple materials like leather and sterling silver leaving the glass to be the focus. Her designer line includes necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. Trace’s glass jewelry has graced the necks of many celebrities such as Sharon Stone in “Cold Creek Manor” and Lisa Kudrow in “Friends”. She has been featured in various TV shows and magazines such as HGTV’s ”Crafters Coast to Coast”, KTLA Morning News, Travel and Leisure, Marie Claire and Lucky Magazine.
