Mixed media/upcycled collage artist

Raised by artists and creative thinkers in an eclectic east coast artist community, Los Angeles based collage artist Tanya Mikaela has been creating in a variety of mediums throughout her life. Tanya received a BFA from Parsons School of Design and is a member of both Collage Artists of America and Los Angeles Experimental Artists Group.
As a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner she helps lead the Art and Beauty Ministry at the Agape International Spiritual Center, and teaches Art of the Soul Workshops combining the Healing Arts with Fine Art to assist others in birthing and celebrating their own creativity. Her work has been honored and collected on both coasts, and her collage of Barack Obama was featured in Shepard Fairy’s Manifest Hope show in DC for the 2009 inaugural events. It is now part of the book Art for Obama and was highlighted in the January 2016 issue of Politico Magazine.
Tanya is the recipient of numerous awards, among them two Peace Project awards, a Gold Key award, Collage Artists of America First Place Award, and several American Art Awards. She has created art to benefit Doctors without Borders, Women Against Gun Violence, The Rescue Train, and the Peace Project. A portion of all profits from her artwork supports the organization Feeding America. Her favorite form of expression is Upcycled Collage; layering torn reclaimed paper to express her spiritual vision through her artwork.
